Saturday, October 20th, I'll sing with Dean Mora and His Orchestra at the Egyptian Theatre's 90th Anniversary Masquerade Ball, an evening of 1922-style entertainment featuring silent short films (including some Egyptian theme novelty films), vaudeville acts, make your own Hollywood Screen Test, 1920s libations, a buffet fit for King Tut, gaming in our speakeasy gambling den, docent-led tours of the Egyptian's private spaces, Mystics, a 1920s fashion parade, Paper Moon Vintage Photos and exotic entertainment including performances by Princess Farhana and DeVilla who will provide a vintage-style floor show, recreating the glamour of Old Hollywood and the "orientalist" fantasies of silent films, the Victory Variety Hour burlesque troupe who will perform "Egyptian Epic," and close-up magic from professional magician Mark Paskell.

6/14: Mora's Modern Rhythmists

Mora's Modern Rhythmists at Disney California Adventure
This Thursday, I'll appear with Mora's Modern Rhythmists vintage swing orchestra as part of a private event celebrating Disney California Adventure's grand re-opening after a five-year, billion-dollar expansion.
The new entrance to the park, Buena Vista Street, has been refashioned to evoke 1920s and 30s Los Angeles, with Red Car trolleys, modeled after the ones which once served Southern California (and continue to operate in San Francisco in the MUNI's historic streetcar restoration fleet).
We'll be performing in front of the Carthay Circle Theatre, modeled after the site of the 1937 world premiere of “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.”
