The Cast of Kritzerland at the Gardenia: The Kander and Ebb Album
Our July “Kritzerland at the Gardenia” is another exciting evening devoted to the brilliant songs of John Kander and Fred Ebb.  Over the years, Bruce Kimmel has produced CDs containing many Kander and Ebb songs, including an entire album devoted to their music and lyrics, Brent Barrett’s “The Kander and Ebb Album,” as well as two instrumental presentations of their shows, Chicago and Cabaret, with the Brad Ellis Little Big Band.  Kander and Ebb have written some of the greatest theater songs ever, from shows such as Flora, The Red Menace; Cabaret; The Happy Time; Zorba; 70 Girls 70; Chicago; Woman Of The Year; and many others, including the recent The Scottsboro Boys, which received a Tony nomination for Best Score.  We’ve assembled our usual stellar group of singers, and it’s a treat to have as our special guest, Gregory Harrison, who starred in Kander and Ebb’s Steel Pier, and has played Billy Flynn in Chicago more than 1000 times on the road and on Broadway.  Our musical director is the great John Boswell.

So, join us for an incredibly tuneful evening filled with Kander and Ebb classics as well as some of their more obscure material.

Reservations:   Dinner reservations begin at 7:00 pm and will guarantee you a table.  If you reserve for dinner, you will get a phone confirmation.  If you wish to attend show only, please reserve with your phone number just in case we need to reach you, but you will not receive a confirmation.  Please make your reservation by noon on July 6th.

Cover charge is $15 with a two-drink minimum.
There is no drink minimum with dinner.

It’s a new year, and Kritzerland at The Gardenia is starting it off with songs culled from three different albums produced by Bruce Kimmel – Unsung Sondheim, Sondheim At The Movies, and The Stephen Sondheim Album.  While there are some Sondheim classics, you’ll also hear some rarely-performed-but-great Sondheim songs, many of which made their debut on these albums.  The cast includes some of the best voices in town, and one from out of town — special guest Millicent Martin, who was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in both Side by Side by Sondheim and King of Hearts, and appeared in the London production of Follies.

Last month’s shows sold out and there was standing room only!  Kritzerland at The Gardenia shows happen on the first Wednesday of every month (except for January), so mark your new calendar!

Reservations highly recommended.  We suspect this show is going to be a sell-out.  Dinner reservations begin at 7:00 pm and they guarantee you a table, but show reservations are also recommended.

Cover charge is $15 with a two-drink minimum.
There is no drink minimum with dinner.

9/1: Appearing at The Gardenia

On September 1st, I'll be appearing in cabaret with Jason Graae, Lesli Margherita, Pamela Myers and Alet Taylor at The Gardenia Lounge in West Hollywood.

The Gardenia is proud to present a new series of shows, Kritzerland at the Gardenia, the first Wednesday of every month, starting in September. Kritzerland is record producer Bruce Kimmel's label, and the first series of shows will be based on the albums Kimmel has produced.

The first show is based on the four-volume set of “Lost in Boston” CDs -- songs from hit shows, which were subsequently cut or replaced -- heard only out of town or in previews. Songs from shows like PROMISES, PROMISES, CHICAGO, APPLAUSE, 110 IN THE SHADE, I DO! I DO! SWEET CHARITY, ANNIE GET YOUR GUN, BALLROOM, GYPSY and others. And for this first show, they'll be performed by (in alphabetical order): Jason Graae, Damon Kirsche, Lesli Margherita, Pamela Myers, Alet Taylor. Musical Direction is by the wonderful Shelly Markham.
