I was recently interviewed by Samantha Mehlinger for a feature article in the LA Stage Times  ("Kirsche Kicks Off MTW’s 6-0 Party With 42nd Street"), in which we discuss Musical Theatre West's current production of 42nd Street, my recent work in Scott Thompson and Fred Barton's new Harold Arlen musical One for My Baby, and my regular appearances with Dean Mora and his Orchestra.

10/26-11/11: 42nd STREET at Musical Theatre West

This weekend, Musical Theatre West's 42nd STREET opens at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long Beach, directed and choreographed by Jon Engstrom with musical direction by Michael Borth.

"Terrific tap dancing and sensational singing abound in the song–and–dance fable of Broadway.  Peggy Sawyer, fresh off the bus from Allentown, Pennsylvania is plucked out of the chorus to save the show when leading lady, Dorothy Brock, breaks her ankle and cannot go on.  Features “We’re in the Money,” “Shuffle Off to Buffalo,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” and of course, the title song."

UPDATE: The production received rave reviews in the Los Angeles Times (Critic's Choice) and Backstage (Critic's Score: A). Click here for photo coverage of Musical Theatre West's 42ND STREET Opening Night Curtain Call & Party by Lily Lim at BroadwayWorld.
